Post 16 (11/18/25) TUESDAY (SEVEN WELLNESS & HOTEL + NA UND NIGHTS)
I was excited for Tuesday, as my plan was to visit the Seven Hotel and Wellness recommended by Two Gay Expats. It is a boutique, luxury, clothing optional, gay resort in the Campo Internacional area near the golf course where all the bungalows are.
Here is a little video I made on my way out of my hotel:
I walked to the local taxi stand, grabbed the one who was sitting there, and he was familiar with my destination. Once arrived, I buzzed for entry, greeted the man who welcomed me, and was directed to the bar to establish myself on a day pass. The bartender, Diego, was super cool. I'd liken him to a California surfer type guy. I guess I assumed he'd be gay working there, but later found out he was straight but obviously super gay friendly. I mean kissing guys and letting them pat him on the behind gay friendly! haha In this little introduction video, I reveal my surroundings and you can see Diego in the background making a peace sign, sticking his tongue out, and making my cappuccino:
Just a quick hello from my lounge chair in the sun by the pool:
Had to get the classic going-for-a-swim shot (yes the full, unedited version has me getting in and out of the pool naked - sorry! haha):
Check out my mojito & lunch (at the perfect moment when Diego delivers the goods - a salad with greens, smoked salmon, beets, and green apple):
I inspired a movement, as everyone came to dine after me:
I had a wonderful time there soaking up the sun in the altogether, having a bit of a workout in the outdoor gym, socializing with the staff, and greeting some other guests. I would definitely consider staying there on a future visit. It's clearly a nice hotel with ample facilities, a friendly staff, and very good food. The only catch is that it is not near the beach nor town, so anytime you want to leave the property you must get a taxi.
As I was lying in the sun, using a timer on my phone to control my sun exposure, I came up with the idea to make some more time-based playlists. I have playlists with 3, 5, 7, and 10 minute songs, but the new concept was to make lists of multiple songs for longer periods like a half hour and an hour. So that took me a couple hours to accomplish, and I am very happy with the results. They will be used to time various activities in those time windows. Sweet!
Eventually I headed out for the evening at Yumbo, and wanted to get a small bite first. I recalled that delicious tomato soup I had several days prior, so I decided to go to Mr. Lee for another bowl. I got that plus a shrimp cocktail to keep it simple, reasonably healthy, and not too much food. The soup was good, although lacked that little extra special something that it had the previous time. The shrimp cocktail was quite a mediocre dish. Something in the salad greens tasted a bit off. The fruit all over the plate was literally a can of fruit cocktail (blegh), the dressing was a thousand island type thing, and the shrimps were ok, but nothing special. Meh, pretty touristy and typical. So what if that was one meal? haha

After dinner, I went to Na Und for some socializing. It was ok. I spoke to some people, had a couple drinks, and enjoyed it fairly well. I got a couple phone calls while I was there, one from Raymond, and the other from Alex. Alex asked me to take a video to show him around, since he missed the place. In watching it after the fact, I realize that it moves a little quickly to focus on much (didn't want to move too slowly and annoy people with making a video of them), but figured it was worth sharing. My friends, I give you the infamous Na Und bar of Yumbo Centrum!
I basically got a little bored, gave up on the place, and decided to leave. I took a walk around Yumbo, and something drew me back to Na Und for another visit. It was lucky I did. I rounded a corner, and as I walked toward the backside of the bar, there was a man who immediately captured my attention. I walked right up to him and said hi, how are you in Spanish. Also in Spanish I asked him where he was from, and he didn't understand me. I asked again in English and he said Vancouver! Yaaaay! An English speaker. How easy! haha Well, as much as we clearly liked each other, it was just as unfortunate that he was actually there with his partner. Fairly soon, Singh, his Thai partner returned with their drinks he had gone to fetch. It was clear both Earl and I were a bit disappointed. Somehow things worked out for us though, at least in the bar. We had a very nice (and stimulating) visit talking, kissing, and a little heavy petting. I managed to snap this pic just to have it on record. He seems to be another guy who doesn't photograph as well as he looks in person though:

We would both have loved to have gotten together at my hotel, but he felt that Singh would not take to that well, and of course neither of us wanted to upset him, so we didn't push for anything. After a while, Singh invited us to come sit in their group on the patio side, so we did. I met their British friends Chris, Rob, and John (with whom I shared an obvious mutual attraction as well). It was funny that where they were happened to be right next to Roger Durand, and I was fortunate that Earl went in first which put him between Roger and me. It wasn't too long before their whole group decided to leave, as it was nearly 1am. Nearby, the gorgeous Shay, from Ireland, gestured me over. We enjoyed a pleasant brief exchange, and I was introduced to his friend Michael. I finally got to explain to Michael what had happened when I first encountered them. I was sitting in a cafe feeling ignored by the server and noticed Michael at the upper level. He seemed to make eyes at me and even gesture to summon me up to where he and his friend were. They sat at a table by the time I got up there (after deciding to give up on the server). I assumed they were a couple. I spoke with Michael for a minute and felt like Shay was making evil eyes at me, perhaps out of jealousy that I was speaking to what I figured was his partner. So I extricated myself from the scene and skipped coffee. He laughed a bit when I told him the story, since I was so wrong, and they were not lovers at all. Plus I learned by then, after seeing and engaging with Shay many times by that point, that he is just a bit silly and weird and makes all kinds of funny faces that are somewhat nonsensical, including sticking his tongue out a lot. haha
So I finally split after 1am, and called it a night. My time with Earl was wonderful, and I certainly hoped to see him again. Fortunately his partner seemed cool with me and all that had happened, so no one was in trouble.
