Post 12 (11/14/25) PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA (THE BEST EVER!!!!)
When a classy, well traveled Italian (especially one for whom I am so hot) highly recommends a pizza, I give enough credence in that to at least give it a try. And this proved the correct instinct in this case for sure.
Before going in, as I was on the phone with Anthony outside, a super drunk, crazy guy had approached me on the sidewalk. He was harassing everyone who crossed his path with a scare and a boogie man style goofy gesture. After seeing him do this a few times, he actually went into the restaurant! I saw him approach the staff and they did some high-fives, fist bumps, etc., so I figured maybe he knew them. Next thing I noticed, one of the guys seemed to be scolding him and raised a hand pointing him to leave. He made his way toward the door, but next thing I noticed, he ended up sitting at a table up front and was served a beer. I wrapped my call, and headed in, with the intention of sitting as far from him as possible.
The entrance is so, dare I say, entrancing, I just had to capture a little video walking in:
I noticed a counter with seating in the very opposite corner from the crazy guy, in front of the pizza oven and the pizzaiolo spinning his magic. The host escorted me over there and told the guys I wanted to sit, so they jumped into action and cleared off all of their equipment and supplies that were occupying that counter and set me up with a place-setting. I felt VIP immediately! I looked over the menu, and settled on the specialty of the house the 450 Gradi pizza, featuring a pesto sauce, mozzarella, spicy salami (pepperoni), and a ricotta stuffing in the crust rim. I became super chummy with the pizzaiolo Matteo and the owner Antonio, so I snapped this pic of them assembling my pie:
